Hello my name is Ruth Bridge and I am the flying start Parent Forum Development Officer for The Parent Network. I organise coffee mornings for parents, carers and children across all of the Flying Start areas in Caerphilly Borough. I currently have groups running in St. James ICC, Lansbury Park, Hengoed, Graig y rhacca, Pantside, Fochriw and Heolddu. I will also be starting groups in Philipstown and Rhymney after Easter.
The coffee mornings are a great way to meet new people, socialise and make a difference to services whilst being fun for you too. We organise training, fun learning experiences, arts, crafts and lots more. If you would like to try something let us know and either we can orgianise it, find someone who can run it for us or signpost you to the service.
While at the groups I also encourage parents to discuss the flying start services that are available to them, or that they already receive. This makes sure that everyone is kept right up to date with any changes and to discuss any new services that are being developed that will affect their families. Its also an opportunity for you to tell us if something isn’t working for you or if you thought something was really good.
